Apply to ESF
Ranger School Admission

Candidates may apply to The Ranger School as high school seniors, transfer students from other institutions, or internally from SUNY ESF bachelor’s degree programs. The application process you follow depends on which type of student you are, as outlined below.

1 + 1 + 2 Plan
For students wishing to complete the first-year requirements for both the associate degree and a bachelor degree. These students should apply as a first-year student, and can choose early action or regular admission.

1 + 1 Plan
For students wishing to attend The Ranger School after completing their first-year requirements at another. Under this plan, students apply for first-year admission to a different SUNY college or the college of their choice and apply for sophomore entry at The Ranger School under the Guaranteed Transfer option.

If you’ve completed first-year requirements elsewhere, you may apply to The Ranger School as a transfer student. Transfer students are encouraged to enroll at one of our Cooperative Colleges.

Current SUNY ESF students may apply for internal transfer to the associate degree programs offered at The Ranger School campus or from the Ranger School to the bachelor degree programs at the Syracuse campus.

Please note: You must use the SUNY application if you have earned or will earn an A.A. or A.S. at a SUNY or CUNY college and you wish to receive the SUNY transfer application fee waiver, or you are applying for the “3+3” Doctor of Physical Therapy program with Upstate Medical University.

SUNY has temporarily suspended SAT and ACT testing requirements for admission to bachelor’s degree-granting campuses. You can now choose to have your scores considered at each SUNY college to which you apply.
